The Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL) course combines both practical flight training and the theoretical knowledge required to fly aeroplanes.
The course requires a minimum of Two hundred hours flying time – including solo flight – ending with a skills test with an examiner. The skills test will examine your general handling and navigation skills.
There are also written exams to be completed covering important topics including:
- Air Navigation
- Air Regulations
- Technical General
- Meteorology
- Technical Specific
All of the exams are in the multiple-choice format.
Finally, you must pass a medical examination by a DGCA-approved doctor, and pass a practical radio operators exam. Most medicals are straightforward and anyone of average health should pass the medical without any difficulties.
Our dedicated, experienced instructors will support you throughout your training. You can fly as often as you like, but we do recommend that all students should aim to fly at least once a week – regular flying experience plays an important role in the training !
The Commercial Pilots Licence allows to you to pilot an aircraft during day, night, Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).
- Be at least 16 years of age at start of the training
- Shall have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics
- Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language
- Obtain current class I medical certificate
- Receive a minimum of 200 hours of flight time including training and solo flight
- Pass knowledge test as well as the practical test
In order to work as a commercial or airline pilot, you need to obtain a CPL –a commercial pilot licence. Once you have this, you can fly for an airline.
To begin CPL training you must be at least 16 years old, pass a Class 1 medical examination, have a high school certificate (Physics & Math).
You do not need to have a university degree to obtain a CPL licence.

Each country has its own regulations. India is subject to DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) rules. However, all licences are issued following the international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and there are agreements in place between ICAO member states to allow for the conversion of pilot licences.
Yes, it’s an option! Though you should bear in mind that licences are issued by the state and, therefore, once the school thinks you’re ready, the official exams are carried out in the facilities of the competent authority.
